Michael Formella

Michael Formella

Michael is an Associate within Accordion’s Turnaround & Restructuring practice with three years of public finance investment banking experience, working with large state and city governments and non profit entities.

Prior to joining Accordion, Michael was an Analyst and Associate in the Public Finance Investment Banking group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch / BofA Securities. His clients were primarily Midwestern public sector clients, including state and city governments and agencies, airport and transportation issuers, higher and public education institutions, and hotel and convention center authorities. Michael was responsible for banking and advisory services including performing transaction due diligence and structuring work, tracking client borrowing and debt capacities, and recommending custom financing structures to clients.

In his three years with the firm, he was the primary or sole analyst/associate on seventeen executed senior managed municipal bond financings and underwritings representing over $4.5 billion in principal. He also interned with the same group at BofA for one summer.

Michael graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Finance and Business Honors. He holds FINRA Series 7, 52, 63 and SIE licenses.
