Max St.Aubin

Max St.Aubin

Max is a Vice President with more than 7 years of experience assisting clients with turnaround and restructuring services, buy-side financial due diligence, financial modeling and forecasting, sell-side investment banking services, cash flow modeling, and valuation analyses. He has primarily advised companies in automotive, consumer goods, energy, and technology ranging from small startups to large multinational companies.

He recently worked with the management of a troubled electricity cooperative to help them understand their liquidity runway by building a 13-week cash flow model and long-term operating model. There, he helped to quantify the company’s potential financial exposure and supported management in analyzing their strategic alternatives and creditor negotiations.

Over the course of 2021 Max worked with a middle market PE client to perform buy-side financial due diligence on more than 15 bolt-on acquisitions, totaling over $60M in LTM EBITDA. Managing a team of junior staff members, he was responsible for interviewing management teams, cleansing and preparing large datasets utilizing tools such as Alteryx, and providing quality of earnings adjustments to his client.

Max was a member of the team that acted as financial advisor to a global automotive parts company in its chapter 11 proceedings and eventual $1.6B sale. He helped create and owned the financial forecast model that was ultimately used as the deal model in the transaction. He also assisted in developing a 13-week cash flow model and monitored actual performance against budget.

Prior to joining Accordion, Max was an investment banking senior analyst at Kroll Securities in their consumer and retail M&A practice. He provided sell-side M&A services and was responsible for constructing detailed financial models, including valuation analyses such as discounted cash flows, comparable public companies, precedent transactions, and leveraged buyout analyses.

Max started his career in the Deals practice of PwC in Tokyo, Japan where he helped his clients realize their potential through M&A, divestitures, and capital markets. There, he built a variety of complex financial models to assist corporate strategy and FP&A teams to business planning, long-range forecast planning, project finance, M&A, and capital allocation analysis.

Max is a member of The Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and the Turnaround Management Association and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). He graduated from Sophia University with a B.A. in International Business and Economics and from IE Business School with an M.Sc. in Finance.
