Kenneth Bauer

Ken is an Associate with over five years of transactional, advisory, and operational experience. He currently specializes in turnaround and restructuring services for Accordion and has extensive knowledge across leverage buyouts, distressed M&A, complex debt recovery, divestments, and recapitalization strategies. His restructuring and business expertise covers a broad range of sectors, most recently within Consumer Products & Retail, Technology, Media & Telecom, Aerospace & Defense, and Healthcare Services.

Some notable restructuring engagements include:

  • Shepherding the sale of substantially all assets of a group fitness company in a complex acquisition by a key creditor while simultaneously managing the dissolution of residual overhead operations.
  • Full assessment of a large publicly traded IT services business to determine DIP budget/new money need, degree of solvency, likelihood of covenant breaches and feasibility of emerging from a Ch 11 reorg.
  • Led the full operating model build for a behavioral health business to understand an immediate liquidity crisis and cash runway, aimed to inform go-forward strategy on program offerings and planned CapEx.

Prior to Accordion Ken was an analyst at Summit Partners, a Boston-based growth equity firm, where he oversaw all portfolio company valuations and return waterfalls, gained insight into ARR/cohort analyses and SaaS-based unit economics models, and managed related analytical deep dives across the firm’s growth equity complex.

Before Summit Partners, Ken worked as an analyst at Pathway Capital, a diversified private equity firm, where he focused on investment due diligence and deal execution work. Ken started his career at PIMCO as a summer quant associate within their statistics group where he developed a working knowledge of esoteric fixed income products and developed and maintained systems in VBA/Python/C++ to bolster research and trading productivity at the firm.

Ken graduated with high honors from Northeastern University and obtained a dual B.S in Finance & Economics. As an undergraduate, Ken completed three internships across investment banking and private equity. Ken is a CFA Level II candidate, CTP candidate, and pursuing a CIRA certification.
