Gary Moran

Gary Moran

Gary is a Managing Director with over three decades of experience. Gary oversees the Eastern Region practice including recruiting of top-notch professionals, oversight of sponsor client relationships and satisfaction, new business development, career development for personnel, and leadership of client engagements. Client work includes performance improvement, merger integration and carve-out planning and execution and finance function improvement initiatives.

His experience includes leading private equity portfolio companies through the execution of strategic & operational projects in connection with major transaction and performance improvement initiatives. Gary has led merger integration and carve-out projects ranging in size from $20 million to $6 billion and served as interim CFO on a few carve-out transactions. Gary’s performance improvement work has focused on finance function improvement projects, 13-week cash flow forecasting and liquidity management assistance.  He has worked with numerous sponsors including H.I.G. Capital, Advent International, Carlyle, Hellman & Friedman, General Atlantic and Gemspring Capital.

Prior to joining Accordion, Gary founded and led a firm focused on providing finance function consulting, interim leadership, merger integration and carve-out execution services to private equity firms and corporations. Gary’s professional background also includes Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) and Andersen where he held various leadership positions and served over 100 clients. During his tenure at A&M, he led the Northeast Performance Improvement Practice and at Andersen Gary was the Partner in Charge of the North American Finance and Operations Consulting Practice.

Gary has led numerous speaking engagements on merger integration and carve-out best practices and finance function performance improvement. He also completed a six-year assignment as a Governing Board Member of Make-A-Wish of New Jersey.

Gary graduated from Oneonta College with a B.S. in Business Economics and from Binghamton University with an M.S. in Accounting.
